Just a tiny detail, Mark - It is much less common to form questions in English in the same manner as in French, with an upward intonation at the end of a statement to signify that it is a question.
Can I suggest that a much more natural way of asking this would be to say:
Of course, I'll pay for the liver pâté...
Alex – And... Am I cancelling Madame's crayfish too?
