On re-reading, Mark, it definitely means 'Two courses' (as in Main Coiurse and dessert) He is responding to the fact that she is only going to have 2 courses - a main course and a dessert. In the next unit he agrees to have the same as her - only 2 courses (not two main courses)
Suggestion: Nicolas – Two courses.

Or does this mean in this case: Nicolas - Two dishes. (Main course and dessert)
because he then goes on to say 'Okay, then I'll have that too'.
