Hello Marina - can I suggest 'waist' - would be more commonly used and understood in English. Also 'fell down along her cheeks'
Her flowing hair reached down to her waist, and on either side of her forehead, ribbon bows mingled with curly locks, that fell down along her cheeks.
'flowing hair' describes the type of hair she has and 'reached down' to her waist describes how far down it 'reaches'.
I would use 'locks' rather than 'strands', because a strand of hair is very thin, whereas a 'lock of hair' consists of many strands.
