Vorschlag Mark, ich würde eher 'Offenkundig' als 'Overtly' übersetzen.
'Obviously', in diesem Zusammenhang hat eher die Bedeutung von 'Selbstverständlich', wobei 'Offenkundig' eher bescreibt was offen zu sehen ist, also 'overtly', what is 'apparent' (aber nicht 'apparently'), what is noticeable, conspicuous, what he lets the world see.
