by markvanroode 2 weeks ago"Passiar" here is not passion. See chapter VIII, unit 132, "...intimate small talk...". I found it defined as small talk, chit-chat, and gossip. I suggest "...and all this chit-chat about life and death was distasteful to him." Or if you prefer "unpleasant" then I suggest "unpleasant for him", changing the preposition from 'to' to 'for'. It seems more natural that way.
