If we keep it that way then the previous unit, 114, would have to also be changed to "Like tombs." But also, I would further change the verb tense in this unit so that it reads, "Tombs always get colder." I think you're right. it does work without the definite article unless the author is referring to a specific place called "gravkamrene". I checked the entire novel and found only these two references, so I asked Google AI if there was such a place at that time and the answer was 'no'. The entire answer included much helpful and interesting info on the author and the style of this particular work and I can send that to you if you email me. In summary, in my own translation on my PC I now have "Like tombs. Tombs always get colder."

Oops. I may have promoted this one too quickly. 'Gravkamrene' translates with the definite article 'the' and that would make more sense in this context, wouldn't it? - The tombs are always getting colder.
