The term "adults" is usually used to distinguish adults from children. "Older" is usually "eldre" in norsk - gammel, eldre, eldst, and with the definite article in front of the adjective, "De to", the two older people would be "De to eldre menneskene...". Here in this context I would just say "The two old folks...". "The old folks", meaning Mom and Dad, was always "de gamle" as I recall. I might also upvote "the old people".
