Try it out and see what it looks like. The ... conveys a pause, an unfinished thought. I like it for that reason.
by markvanroode 1 month agoOh that's Okay. I'm still just trying to find my way around. Maybe in those situations we could convey the idea, i.e. stopping in mid-speech, or trailing off with an unfinished thought, by typing a simple hyphen - instead of three dots, or maybe 3 commas,,,
by DavidKenstad 1 month agoThis is the problem. My son coded the website so that a translation unit finished at a dot. So, three dots at the end of a phrase results in three consecutive translation units. Termination of a phrase also happens after Mr., Mrs., etc. As for ?, !, I think it terminates there as well, but I'm not sure. I'll experiment with ir next time I upload an article. I tend to put a dot after a semi-colon, so the phrase stops there:.
by markvanroode 1 month agoDoes Translatihan allow us to enter 3 dots and closing quotation marks at the end of a phrase to indicate an unfinished sentence without throwing off the formatting?
