Avvenne in que' giorni, che havendo inteso uno mercatante, che ivi era con sue mercatantie capitato, che tanto il signore de suoni, et canti si dilettava, et i gran doni, che per ciò far solea, ritrovandosi una schiava di bellezza singolare, et in qualunque forte musica eccellente di maniera, che ciascun de que' tempi in tal scienza avanzava, fattogli ciò intendere, fu da lui incontanente fatto chiamare, et impostogli, che la giovane, la quale Diliramma si chiamava, havesse alla presenza sua à condurre, per accertarsi del molto valor di lei nell'arte musicale, fu dal mercatante il commandamento di lui senza alcuna dimora essequito.
