Il va ouvrir, visiblement
contrarié, et revient avec Carlos, une mallette dans une main et un sac en papier
dans l’autre.

He goes to open the door, visibly annoyed, and returns with Carlos, a briefcase in one hand and a paper bag in the other.

Thanks, Wendy.
by markvanroode 3 months, 3 weeks agoMark, just a small point: He goes to open the door, . . .
by Merlin57 3 months, 3 weeks agoI would use 'goes to open' because this fits with 'and returns with Carlos,'
If he just 'opens the door' then it implies that the door is right there beside him and he doesn't have to 'return' from anywhere.
