The difference between the French and Spanish side of Catalonia on that day is that on the French side, they climb down with the flame and sing, on the Spanish side, they make a real fiesta of the whole thing and take the 24th June off to recover. An old celebration of the longest day, etc and on this side, they love fireworks and noise whereas in France fireworks are really forbidden.

Merlin, the fireworks were for the Sant Juan ( St John's) day which is a big thing in Catalonia. A fire is lit at the top of the Canigo mountain ( Eastern Pyrenees) and the flame is carried down to the various places of Catalonia and spread to all villages, etc. Fires, fireworks, music, the whole night. This year fireworks were forbidden ( I usually flee to France for the night) and I felt lazy with the heat and decided to stay. But my neighbours ( usually absent) had a big do with beat music until the early hours. I can sleep through most things but one of my dogs ( all rescues) kept me awake and this morning I felt as though I had spent the night drinking. I wish I had, would have a real excuse :-). In the Spanish sentence the "Precisamente" seems linked to what was said about 10 (well, maybe 6) chapters before and I couldn't find an equivalent.
