No major cleaning and dusting was necessary, just a good fire and dry bedclothes. She seemed to have the best of intentions, although she threw the stove broom into the fireplace instead of the poker and also used all kinds of other tools incorrectly; I left, however, trusting that she would prepare a comfortable place for me to stay the night until I returned.
