1. ... said gravely (weil das "ernsthaft" eine Portion "Gewichtigkeit" enthält)?

2. Sorry, aber das "versündige dich nicht" enthält den Sinn von "lass dich nicht dazu bringen/verführen, zu sündigen; das ist nicht ganz das gleiche wie "Sündige nicht" (ein klarer Befehl, statt einer Aufforderung aus eigener Entscheidung etwas nicht zu tun)
Vorschlag:
... Husband, don't let yourself be tempted by unrighteousness
oder
... Husband, don't give in to committing a sin.?
