'Test of Luck' was used in the translation from German. 'Fortune's test' sounds even better.

Reading further I have decided on Fortune's Test as the ship's name, as literal a translation as that seems to be. It seems to work best as a ship's name and may work as a foreshadowing of events as well.

"Trial of Fortune" - I went through various ship's names in English, none of which were completely satisfactory. How about "Lucky Try"? Lykke can also refer to happiness, as in "Test of Happiness". Better ideas are welcome. Thanks.
