Onde rimasa ella col consigliere suo gli disse, che, poscia che al sommo Iddio era piacciuto, che que' giovani di si gran Re figliuoli fussero nel paese suo capitati, et le questioni loro proposte si prontamente le havessero saputo dichiarire, delle quali sino allhora per molti, che n'havesse interrogati, non havea ella potuto ritrovare chi alcuna soluta n'havesse, s'era diliberata, secondo l'ammonitione del padre di tentare d'haverne uno d'essi per isposo; et, come che tutta tre d'alto ingegno dotati fussero, quello disse à lei sommamente piacere, che la questione del sale con tanta prudenza le havea dichiarita.

Whereupon she remained with her counselor, and she said to him, that it had pleased the Lord, that these young men, the sons of such a great king, were in her country, and that they already knew the answers to questions they were asked so promptly, while she had not been able to find anyone else who had the solutions. She had decided, following her father's advice to try to have one of them as her husband, and while all three of them were highly intelligent, that she very much liked the one who had clarified so prudently the question of the salt.
