'como que venían de Inglaterra' = puesto que venían de Inglaterra / ya que venían de Inglaterra (since/because they came... ??).. This is a colloquial way of saying it, very common.
'como que VINIERAN de Inglaterra' = como si vinieran de Inglaterra (as if they came....)
