Hallo Tom, I find the expression 'he shouted . . . and tormented by' a contradiction. It starts off saying 'he shouted . . . and (he) tormented' giving the impression that he is tormenting someone or something and then comes the 'by' which turns it into a passive situation. I think in this case you would need to add 'and was tormented by'. However, I think it would work better if you simply wrote: "Shoot that thing down," he shouted in a commanding voice, tormented by an evil inkling. What do you think?
